Life has been pretty busy lately with Chris's intern schedule. So when we got the chance, we headed north to Moosehead Lake for a weekend away. We arrived late that night without seeing much of our surroundings. Chris woke me early the next morning with a picture of the sunrise happening outside of our cabin. It was beautiful–and enough to get me up out of bed to photograph it.
We'd camped on the lake last summer and were blown away by the loons calling and the brilliance of the Milky Way overhead. This time around the lake was still frozen and we were the only visitors at The Birches. We soaked up the quietness and relaxed around the wood stove in our cozy cabin. It was such a gift of much needed rest.
