Part of my "day" job consists of teaching photography to K-6 graders at a local after-school program. I had always been hesitant to step into teaching photography as I felt I had big shoes to fill from my instructors in college (especially you Sue!) But last year an opportunity to teach arose and I've found that in thinking over basic photography principles and planning age appropriate projects, I've been stretched and challenged to become a better photographer myself.
This week we worked on "Painting with Light." The kids did an awesome job–each time I teach this either the kids get better or I know how to convey it more–or maybe a little of both. ;) These are two images that I am super proud of them for creating:
